We are starting to consider phones. The iPhone and Google Phone are in the running... thoughts?

The closed-ness of the iPhone is very slightly annoying. But in general, it is a stunning piece of technology and I can't honestly imagine being without one in the next few years. I believe more in the Android conceptually, but the ecosystem surrounding the iPhone is undeniable.

I predict some pretty cool phones will come out in time for the holiday shopping season. If you can afford to wait another couple months, you should do so.

The iPhone is nice, but a device with no buttons is not a phone.

Beware of living in a large metropolitan area and depending on AT&T's 3G coverage. It is somewhat lacking.
