Death Magnetic
FYI: Death Magnetic, which just came out, is awesome. I couldn't stand the previous album, St. Anger; it was reminiscent of a raccoon stuck in a garbage can. I'm all for crazy time signatures, but at some point, it's just middle-aged boys making smashing sounds randomly.
But this really is awesome. If you liked the old Metallica, you'll feel at home with this. Before this, I thought for sure these forty-somethings had reached the bottom of the barrel-how much more angst-filled anger can you tap? But this albums shows that they've still got it. Rock on.
