TIG Welding

Today I finally got to try out tungsten-inert-gas welding. As advertised it is more challenging than MIG welding but has the potential to create a much cleaner more-controlled weld.

Please tell me you're developing your "head-nod-to-drop-the-shield-in-front-of-your-face-without-losing-your-place" maneuver, rather than using them newfangled auto-darkening face shields?

The shop has the newfangled ones and the old school ones. So far I've only used the newfangled ones when actually working, though. I suppose the skill you describe would tone my headbanging muscles, though.
