mew0422 and I had a great weekend and we checked a bunch of stuff off my “To-Do in California” list. She arrived Thursday night, I had a meeting at work Friday morning, then we went to lunch at La Cabañia in Venice and headed over to the very strange
Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City. It is, well, very strange. It's not clear if it's a massive hoax, the work of a crazy pseudoscience, a
cabinet of curiosities, or the front for a cult. Either way, it is interesting, if spooky and dimly lit.
After that, we had a great time at my office's Cinco de Mayo party.
Saturday, we drove out to the
Kelso Dunes in the Mojave desert. It took 1.5 hours to get to the summit and about 30 minutes to get back down. Big thanks to
beef_cake for suggesting this as an interesting place to see.

After that, we drove up to
Baker for dinner, then back to Mudd for a final (unofficial) Baja.
More to come...
