i made it - we'll have to sort out the visa situation later in the week and then we are going to minsk! :) in fact, if not for a rather stupid mistake, i would have won the thing...
we are actually driving to minsk - that will be a little uncomfortable, but i love going places in a car. still, ~2k km each way is a formidable distance. even for a 2-day drive, that would mean ~12 hours each day. or maybe we will do it in 3 days, with some sightseeing time?
i'll have to discuss the exact details with the others, as well as the route. one option is to go through serbia, hungary and poland, the other is romania and the ukraine, although there seems to be a third option that is in-between. we are probably taking the serbia route because while it is a bit longer, it is mostly highways, and the state of the roads in romania is not clear. so, it is both easier to drive, and perhaps faster.
