And here it is, october 28th, and NaNo is just around the corner. I am undecided. The big pro here obviously is that I'm currently unemployed so I have time to kill. The big con is that the Warcraft expansion comes out on Nov. 13 and that's going to be a big draw. On the other hand maybe it would be better to be WoW-celibate for a few weeks to let people get ahead of me and not be caught in the large group of people all hitting the new content at the same time. There is something to be said for that. And I do frequently feel like my life lacks creative purpose at the moment (like...I look for work...I play WoW...what of this is lasting achievement?) so there is that.
And anyone familiar with WoW can identify the warning danger here of "I'm just gonna do one more little thing and then I'm going to log off, I swear." So. I renewed my subscription on nano's website though my data from previous years doesn't seem to be there. And I looked at the Snowflake method for noveling because I've always kind of wanted to try that. And, *gasp of horror* I opened a word document and wrote out "2008 Nano" at the top. I have an idea for a drow-ish kind of novel wherein I kill everybody at the end. It would never publish of course but as my brother can attest (and probably agree with) I think drow novels currently on the market where the protagonists survive the book...don't really *get* the nature of Lolth, may her name be blessed. Or cursed, whatever.
So.
