Yoga makes me such a happy Ben. Acroyoga last night was awesome. I based Star by popping up to it, which was pretty sweet. I also got to fly! Normally I seem to end up working with people who suck at basing, so I only get to fly minimally. This time I worked some with a guy who was pretty good at it, so I got to fly much more complex stuff, which was fun. Seriously, I love this stuff. Today I went to a good ashtanga class. My body and mind feel relaxed, cleansed, and happy. I need this stuff every day.
I'm consistently surprised at how much I improve even though I only find time to do asana practice once every week or two. For example, last week I tried lotus just to see how close I could get, and magically found myself in the full pose. I could only hold it for a few seconds, but that is still a significant difference than where I've been before. My hips are opening up a lot. I almost got my foot behind my head today. And my hamstrings are noticeably much more flexible than ever before. I'm also happy to say that while these things are nice, I've been very good about not getting attached to them. Getting into fancy poses is not the point (though it is a fun bonus).
An hour and a half later and I swear my brain is still swimming in all kinds of endorphins and happy chemicals.
