I finally got around to visiting the official papal apartments in the Apostolic Palace, where I promptly removed all of the JP2 seals from the walls. The seal of the Holy Father Benedict XVI will be arriving soon, so I am told. In the meantime I prefer staying in the apartment of the Domus Sanctae Marthae.
This morning I met with all of the cardinals that are still in Rome.
Tomorrow I'm going to sit down with the media and other social communications workers because I didn't get too many headlines today. Hopefully my discussions with them will get a few fresh headlines out before my inauguration.
Since I mentioned it, I'm really excited about presiding at the Eucharist for the solemn inaugutarion of my pontificate. I didn't exactly ask the cardinals to elect me Pope, but because they believe in my papal aura and Holiness I accepted the vote and expect the whole inauguration to be almost overwhelming.
It's really starting to sink in that I'm actually the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI!
