V. plausible, moving picture of Hugh Davenant's lifelong relationship with (and love for) Justin Alastair.
Re-reading Davenant's parts in Georgette Heyer's These Old Shades is so much better after reading this story. This does spoil the plotpoints for These Old Shades and its next generation sequel, Devil's Cub. (Devil's Cub only has a brief allusion to Davenant, alas.)
