I mostly use Goodreads anymore, I really should post a list here more often, because I do so love reading other people's. I get more good recs that way than any other. I just bought Seraphina -- I forgot I had a gift cert at Amazon, and so I'd been going to skip it because of the price for now until I remembered that!
Not really, though re: gift cert I just found a Kindle copy of Friday's Child there, so I went ahead and snagged it too.
I finally stumbled on a book that seems to be keeping me right now, but I can rec a couple of things you might like if you haven't already read them. A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir of Lady Trent by Marie Brennan and its sequel(s) are excellent. Regency/Victorian-esque in style, but with magic. And obviously, dragons. I've read the first two and just purchased the third like I've been meaning to do for a while.
The book I just stumbled on also happens to be Regency-esque with magic. Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal. It's the first in a series, I'm told? I'm just started but I'm enjoying it thus far.
I'm not on goodreads, and I don't often remember to look there for recs, but I had a look at yours yesterday and well, my tbr pile just grew a little higher in consequence.
I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy Seraphina, and Friday's Child is a really funny one I mean to read again.
I'm making note of the books you mention, because historical setting and magic is always a good combination for me.
More than anything, I like Goodreads to keep track of my "want to read" list. I'm crap at writing thing down, but if I can look them up and then BAM, click a button and it's saved so I can look later, it's perfect.
Hee! I hope you find some to enjoy!
I find it's an excellent combo for me. Several of my more favorites seem to be that combination anymore.
