[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Arthur Pendragon
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Fandom: Merlin
Timeline: From the end of series 2
History: handy wikia link

Character Personality:
Arthur is often, on first meeting, perceived as arrogant, supercilious, patronising, any of the other words you can think of to say ‘stuck-up clotpole’, but there’s an awful lot more to him than that.

He is pretty arrogant, often talking down to people below his station or belittling others, but it’s more a mean-spirited sense of humour than any real mean-spiritedness. In his position of Prince, he has been brought up around people who patsy to his poor attitude, and as such it’s not one that’s easy to shake. He is not, however, someone who seriously laps up this kind of attitude; ultimately Arthur appreciates honesty and candour more than sucking up, and doesn’t shy away from hearing his mistakes. He quickly became close to Merlin because of his willingness to say what Arthur didn't want to hear, after all.

Arthur cares a great deal for the people around him, from his close friends and father to the knights and all his subjects. He is loyal to the core, and always willing to put his faith in his friends, regardless of status - something that rallies against the views of his father. He is open-minded and willing to learn from the people around him, such as Gwen, and seeks to be fair and just in all that he does. Arthur is always more than willing to defy even his own father in order to stick to his guns, and in order to protect both his people and his friends.

He is the kind of man to rally an army through action over words, always ready and willing to stand at the front of the front line with his comrades, and will face down any foes with only the amount of fear needed to stay sharp.

He’s also surprisingly astute, able to easily pick up on things bothering friends around him, and always tries to offer some form of comfort or advice to a troubled friend, even if that consolation is a little peppered with insults. Considering how sharp he can be, he's amazingly short-sighted, often missing things in plain view and is happier to substitute his own explanations in where others are not so forthcoming.

He takes great pride in his skills, and even in his kindnesses, and this sometimes can get the better of him; an insult to his honour will not go lying down, and neither will an insult to his person, generally (unless it’s from Merlin, in which case he can give as good as he gets)

Character Abilities:
Being Crown Prince of Camelot, Arthur has been TRAINED TO KILL SINCE BIIIIIRTH. He is head of the Knights of Camelot; the test to join said knights is to stand against him in single combat for a minute, not a test all that many pass. Though the sword is his best weapon, he is an excellent jouster, a dab hand with a mace, and is proficient with pretty much any melee weapon you could throw at him. Arthur is also excellent at training, is a good battle strategist, and a skilled tracker and huntsman. He’s also very pure of heart, if that’s an ability (:|;;) and as the kings son, he is skilled in diplomacy, and is more intelligent than one might first think. And more than anything, he’s been exceptionally lucky.

Character Weaknesses:
Arthur is something of a big fish in a small pond before the events of the show, and some of those traits still remain; Arthur can be an arrogant clotpole when it calls for it, can sometimes badly underestimate people, and his pride doesn’t take much to be bruised. Moreover, having grown up with people waiting on him hand and foot his entire life, he doesn’t have a clue how to cook, clean, do anything domestic, dress himself-- you get the point. As much as he can rough it with the best of them on the trail, he still expects a certain level of home comforts. Also, within the setting of the game, he’s at a large disadvantage technologically, as he’s from somewhere around the 6th century.

[ WEAPON SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Weapon:
Arthur has always seen fit to play sword and shield for the sake of his people; it’s in his nature to take his lead from the people he wants to protect. While he can be headstrong, arrogant, and stuck in his own ways, ultimately he wants to work for the sake of other people, and not himself.

What is your character's Weapon form?:
Somewhat predictably, Arthur’s weapon form is that of a sword. It’s a really good sword, though; the blade is sharp, the balance is perfect. When it is resonating properly with a meister, it’s a sword that can cut down anything. Using Arthur is a little tricky though, as the sword will become heavy and blunt if the person using it has selfish intent; it’s a sword that can only be used to help other people.

First Person:

kjfffffffjfdskkkkkkkknnjwwwwwwwwfkn

[suddenly switches to video; all that can be seen is a dark view of the ceiling which keeps moving around, along with the loud sound of pacing. and muttering] -and now it's lit up! What form of magic is this?

[camera moves suddenly to show a befuddled looking young man, and then swings back and forth between him and the room. looks like he's studying the pda!]

One thing is for certain. This isn't Camelot.

Third Person:

Not everything about this brave new world was bad.

Arthur was trying ever, ever so hard to carry through this with the same amount of noble decorum he used to deal with things related to magic. He was a Crown Prince, for pities sake, he could take anything in is stride! Still, there was a huge difference between a magical element slipping into his every day dealings, and a completely huge shift in the world. And aggravatingly, more often than not his magical worries were assuaged by his most trusted of servants (whether by a tiny, minuscule insight that helped illuminate the bigger picture, or by just being there to order around). Who, in what could only be considered a fit of negligence, was for once not poking his nose around.

Not that having Merlin around would've been much help. In a situation like this, Arthur needed a smart mouth like he needed a sword in his gut.

But. The musing at hand. Strange as everything was - the buildings, those weird metal boxes rattling round, all this technology, and that was to say nothing of the sun - things had certainly moved on in terms of food. Arthur had never thought he'd consider something that wasn't some fancy ornament perched on a ladies dress delicate, but here he was with this dainty little 'pastry'. He was used to the finest things available, but these odd little cakes anyone could buy off the street were putting them to shame!

Heh. Once this 'war' effort was out of the way, perhaps he'd take one home for the palace chefs to copy. He was sure they'd appreciate the challenge.
