The filming was a success!

I am now a film extra!

An agency that I didn’t remember applying to until an hour afterwards contacted me on Friday about a paid assignment. The assignment was to be for Barclays bank, would be filmed in Oxford, last a couple of hours and I would get £75.00 for participating. Initially, I wasn’t sure what it would be exactly but it turned out to be a short programme about customer service for the employees of Barclays. I was told to turn up at nine o’ clock and that it would finish at midday.

I turned up at nine and soon afterwards we all went for a hot beverage in Starbucks. We spent an hour there before we commenced shooting. My job was relatively simple. I was to walk around a partitioned area of High Street and pretend to be a member of the public. My later role was to stand inside Barclays bank and to pretend to be waiting to be served by one of the many customer advisors.

We started shooting at ten o’ clock and had a couple of long breaks in between before finally finishing at half two. The duration of filming was probably a few minutes worth but many Barclays employees will now see the rather pristine, immaculate and well dressed individual that is me in the background!

£75.00 easily made (I will hopefully be paid more for working over time) and free publicity as well. All in all I felt that it went relatively well and that it was a success. Not bad for a days work eh? While I was waiting for the bus home I popped into a Lebanese restaurant to grab some food and now feel rather stuffed. My eyes have always been bigger than my belly! Ah well, no dinner for me this evening! The food was delicious though so I’ll be sure to go in there again!

Now to have a couple of drinks to celebrate!
