As a followup to my
Netflix as methadone post, I had a couple of friends stay over last night. One of them loves early morning news, so she turned on the TV to MSNBC this morning while I was in the shower and watched while she was eating breakfast.
When I got out of the shower, the segment that was on was about the flooding in Iowa. An anchorwoman from her comfy seat in New York or wherever was talking to a family standing amongst the flood wreckage about their home being destroyed.
I went about getting ready for work. Blah blah blah, yada yada yada was all I heard from the TV until I caught this gem from the anchor:
"Describe that feeling of frustration."
What kind of lame a** question is this to ask a flood survivor standing IN the wreckage? What kind of response did she expect? "Well, it's frustrating. It's just really a feeling of frustration."
Just once I'd love to hear an interviewee strike back.
"Well, as I said, it's frustrating. I'm sure you know that feeling. Just as I'm sure all of America feels frustrated at having to look at that outfit and hear you ask asinine questions, Katie."
