Dude, I am so *not* procrastinating here. Avoiding studying? Me? *scoffs* But this had to be done anyway and well Bones and SV are back! Although I missed the first... ten minutes of Bones because Monday wtf?
Y'know. I've come to the realization that Bones is just sort of dorky. It's a good show, don't get me wrong but... it's not what I'd call edgy or hard hitting or anything other than fun. It's also possibly one of the most heterosexual shows that I watch and I slash Zach/Booth. Huh.
That being said, the show is a bit like the dorky younger brother tagging along after it's cooler older sibilings. Seriously, they've touched on pony play and now motorcycle racing and as someone who loves that sort of racing I can tell you it's a whole lot cooler than Bones is making it out to be.
I suppose it's inevitable with any plot with twins in it but was anyone else getting soap opera? 'cause damn. And another sports one next week? This must be after the strike epis were into now because all the writers had to watch were sports. Unless they meant the college basketball one to be during March.
Okay so, Booth's been watching way to much film noir. After the third nickname or so it was a bit... what happy pills are you on? Did he use that many nicknames before? Because I don't remember it or at least it wasn't that obvious. He's still adorable though, per usual. And I do adore him in casual wear because DB is a very pretty man.
Sweets! Omg have I missed Sweets (and Jim but that's a bitter bitter issue). Only 23? And they gave him to Booth? God his boss must *hate* him. Although by the end of the show we've clearly adopted him.
Booth and Bones and Sweets and... Amy was it? At ceramics? Hysterical. Although there was a lot of 'Bones... darling, don't. Just don't.' She seriously can't be *that* backwards, she's been around people before y'all. I mean I'd understand it more if this were Zach but dude. Poor Booth though, his horsie is gonna explode on him once he puts it in the kiln. Apocalyptic art as Platty said.
That being said it wasn't exactly a super excellent episode or anything. But part of the problem with Bones is that I can't tell you what my favorite episodes are because they aren't that memorable to me. Except for when they burned the man up because that was a gorgeous sequence.
Holy Shit. Y'know, I've decided. When Al and Miles stop fiddling with the scripts we get some truly excellent episodes. Like tonight.
Lionel! I... *WAIL* Not the Magnificent Bastard! But... But! God without MB or Lex next season is gonna be.... full of suck. Even if Miles and Al and Lana will be gone. I just don't know.
Anyway, I always love it when they forget they're supposed to be a teen drama and dig into their superhero themes. Because I watch it now because it's Superman and Lex and he's so close. He's grown up so much from first season it's startling (and irritating when they start writing him like first season).
The Chloe and Clark talk about his father figures and his guilt about them dying. It's interesting also that for season 8 we've finally gotten rid of all the parental figures (Jor-El does not count thank you very much). It should make for an interesting dynamic.
Clark and Lex dynamic... still my favorite and still just amazing. TW and MR play off of each other so well. From when Clark was following stalking Lex through the crowd during the beginning (if you want to look into it deeper, Clark is and will always be Lex's conscious because they can't ever leave each other alone and that was Lex being "haunted" by it/him) to the confrontation in the office to the excellent grave scene (which it'll always end up with the two of them at the end of it all. Think the Doctor and the Master).
Lois and Jimmy... were kind of in a different show completely although Jimmy was looking smokin'. All growed up and he looks gorgeous in dark colors. Chloe's hair was purty and I want her haircut.
Lex was... wow he's really lost his shit this time. Finally with showing instead of telling us Lex is evil now. He's crossed a line and he *knows* he can't come back from that so he figures why even try?
No Lana makes for good. Also next week? OMG. *excited*
ETA: So I know I've got some Doctor/Jack fans on my flist and I thought I'd pass this on
The Doctor and I because JB is awesome and knows his fans. :D
