I haven't told any of my friends that my birthday is coming up in a few days. With any luck, it'll pass right by and no one will know I turned thirteen. Even if I wanted a party, the eclipse is coming up soon, Iroh's back in prison (at least, I think he is... he just disappeared somewhere before that stupid fear virus and I know he's not with us

Wow...that does sound like a pretty cruddy time to celebrate a birthday. I'd still love to give you a present...but hey, maybe we cna hold off celebrating until after all that insanity is out of the way?

Seriously, you don't have to get me anything. Holding it off? Sounds great. Put it off until next year, given that I live to see it. Then again, never would be nice too.

It doesn't have to be like that. It may not be a big deal to you, but it is to your friends. Some kids don't even know their own birthdays...I'm not asking you to dance around and demand a cake, but you don't have to push us away so hard.
