(Once John tells him about the pocket thing, Sherlock'll mull it over and come to the conclusion that since John's three other bodies are all sexually frustrated, Sherlock should cut his losses and enlist other Sherlock to make sure John doesn't have to attempt some other method of getting off, e.i., one night stand with someone else.)

(Because Sherlock is aware that other Sherlock would find out and go batshit and Sherlock isn't exactly fond of the notion himself that the relationship is by necessity open in places.)

(John would come to him, look at what he's doing. Thoughts, questions, but, no, it's still not working. John moves in close to look at the wall of info, standing in front of Sherlock. Tilts his head to the side, just a little, exposing his nape and the side of his neck at once. A tiny display to get into his subconscious.)
(Sherlock could effectively walk John through an entire scenario ending with John on his knees. John would probably wind up sucking him off during it.)
(All without realizing that this isn't Sherlock making up a fantasy for John, it's Sherlock tilting the perspective on a fantasy of his own.)

And then I went and wrote a thing just for the hell of it.
Changes from Editing
The biggest change by far is definitely the Mycroft subplot of Elsewhere Come Morning. That's right, it originally wasn't there. Instead, the D!London plotline just sort of dragged and there was way too much introspection all over the place. I would often be writing way too late at night (Last month of summer break meant pulling all-nighters just for fun) and so there were bits that were much too sentimental or American-sounding. Must always remember: just because I get cuddly when tired does not mean my wide-awake characters are at all cuddly.
The second biggest change was the thoroughness on getting things to more of a stable holding point with D!Sherlock. After the entire draft was finished, I sent it to
fogbutton who found it lacking in closure. Confirmed with Vyc and yeah, that had to be changed too.
Not sure how big a change this is, but Vyc and I went back and forth on the amount of dialogue on the first sex scene of Elsewhere. First there was too much, then too little, then it finally got condensed suitably. A lot of people also commented on the pacing of Chapter 5, and originally the slowness of it rather sucked. That was another good change.
Though this is far from the end of all the background ramblings I've rambled up for Watches 'verse, this is all the stuff that doesn't contain spoilers of what's to come. So, I don't know if you found any of that interesting or somehow enlightening, but them's the basics of how Watches happened: youtube clip, Vyc being an excellent listener, me going into writing overdrive for a month, then the two of us editing and rewriting for half a year while occasionally throwing things at
fogbutton for an outside check on clarity. I've made a number of notes at the ends of various fics thanking Vyc for her participation in these stories, but I don't think it comes across as much as it should. All told, it was over half a year working on this monstrosity together and she's still encouraging me on to continue. Seriously, may everyone find a friend like that.
Oh, and before I forget to mention: gonna take a look over the two fics I mentioned in this immense ramble and put them up as well. They're not officially in the 'verse, more like spin off material, but they're still good reads.
