"This is a bad land for gods," said Shadow.*

Still not dead! *waves* Although I'm apparently being terrible at the whole "posting on LJ" thing lately. Not that a lot is happening. I've been reading a lot of A Song of Ice and Fire (currently on book 4) and fangirling a lot on Thor, The Avengers and all things Loki. (Yes, still.)

I've also bought books because I do what I want and all that. So my life now has a) Ragnarok by A.S. Byatt (which is awesome), b) American Gods by Neil Gaiman (which I read years ago but how could I not own this puppy?!, c) Animal Husbandry by Laura Zigman (which I read back in first year of university, having found it in my residence's Ye Abandoned Books library, and I could've adopted the book but didn't because I don't know, so finding it again in a second-hand bookstore was like finding an old friend), and d) The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins (also second-hand, and one I've been meaning to read for ages).

This coming Saturday my folks and I are starting our road trip to Serbia for Ye Sibling's Wedding. I'll be back around July 9th (not that you'll be able to tell I'm gone, as used as y'all probably are to my not posting anything ever). So my floor's littered with clothes and I have half-a-dozen lists in my head. One such list included "get a bigger memory card for the camera" but that's failed because the card I got is 4 GB and apparently my camera is too old to handle that much space and can only deal with up to 2 GB, and they don't sell itty-bitty memory cards anymore so feh.

As for the whole "get a job" thing or the "get a life" thing or even the "get away from here" thing... Yeah. Kinda been putting that all on the back-burner in favour of a "I am going to enter a state of mental hibernation" in which I do nothing. \o/ Anyway. Once I'm back and officially a sister-in-law and everything, I'll be kicking my ass into gear (again).

Look I made fanart!

Also, remember when I accidentally crossovered Thor and Game of Thrones? Seems like my brain decided to hit me with that stick again. So I put The Avenger’s characters into Houses and other such things.

Quotes of the Day: Delirium By Lauren Oliver
You may think the past has something to tell you. You may think that you should listen, should strain to make out its whispers, should bend over backward, stoop down low to hear its voice breathed up from the ground, from the dead places. You may think there's something in it for you, something to understand or make sense of. But I know the truth: I know from the nights of Coldness. I know the pa...st will drag you backward and down, have you snatching at whispers of wind and the gibberish of trees rubbing together, trying to decipher some code, trying to piece together what was broken. It's hopeless. The past is nothing but a weight. It will build inside of you like a stone. Take it from me: If you hear the past speaking to you, feel it tugging at your back and running its fingers up your spine, the best thing to do---the only thing---is run.
