Who said Core boys were modest?*

Planning on going to Montserrat with brother instead of the Pyrenees (oh gods, awkward spelling much?) depsite our both having been there already. We're not equipped for mountain hiking, and, well, since when did a plan with my brother ever fall through? (Remember our not iceskating?)

Yesterday brother got quite miffed because he wanted to go out for a stroll. However, he had no suggestions - and never, ever does, whether he be guest or host - and make me feel like an incompetent foo' who doesn't know her own neighbourhood. (Which I don't, because it's boring and I don't actually hand out there. But that's not the point.) I suggested walking about to the Grácia 'hood, where last summer Otia and I found a fantastic café, La Nena.

The morning rain decided to it had liked shocking Barcelona so much that it came back in the evening. And this time it brought friends.

It bloody poured. And my genius of a brother didn't want to share the umbrella I'd brought. Verdict still out on whether he just didn't want me to "tire myself out" holding the umbrella over us (although, with him being the taller, he could have held it) or whether he was being a stubborn git. Anyway, he got completely soaked, but kept saying, "Go on, I'm right behind you."

Apparently, "right behind" means "enough so that it doesn't at all look like I'm with you" or "inexperienced spy tailing unsuspecting subject".

Anyway, we kept going, because I didn't know what to do. At one point he gave up and wandered into a café, only to walk right out again and telling me to mush on, he'd follow.

Needless to say, we found La Nena, drank out coffee in silence, stared at the walls, then waded through the Bracelona streets have home whilst my brother oozed annonyance like an oil tanked with a breached hull.

Reaching my apartment, my brother muttered bitterly "Why didn't you stop when you saw it was rainging? We could have goen soemplace else? But no, you never talk." Right back atcha, bro.

Silent treatment - continued through the night, with him watching El día de la bestia and me writing some 700 words of Hero's Manual, photoshopping, reading a NeonDaisies PotC fic and watching Bones.

His girlfriend called late into the night and I clambered into bed, after which he wandered in in a somewhat better mood. We made our peace - with me pointing out that our problem is our lack of communication - and I went to sleep while he read Stephen King's Cell.

ana_grrl, along with ozsaur, have set up a Six Words of Smut: Multifandom Challenge. I can summarize it with one word: hawt!

On metaquotes, cats_n_crying waxes loudly and hilariously in favour of the film 300, which I really, really want to watch.

*hopefulnebula for ana_grrl and ozsaur's challenge.
