Too many people in America believe that if you are pro-choice that means pro-abortion.*

It doesn't. I don't want abortion. Abortion should be the rarest thing in the world. I am actually personally opposed to abortion. But I don't believe that I have a right to take what is an article of faith to me and legislate it to other people. That's not how it works in America.*

Babysitting unsuppervised today, as the mother called yesterday (a wee bit late - 10 pm - for spreading the news) and said she'd started work. Spent the rest of the night envisioning the route to the school, because though I've gone there twice, the panic I had the first day, and the conversation I had the second kind of distracted me from learning the route.

Apart from worrying about reaching the school in time, surprisingly calm about the situation.

Links of the day:

metaquotes seems to be on an abortion-roll, as there's a post on abortion and birth control by _status_quo, a post regarding the denial of the morning-after pill to a rape victim for religious reasons, which lead to a news story wherein a rape-victim gets imprisoned *and* denied her second dose of morning-after. Then there's a blog-archive countering ridiculous anti-pill arguments.

It's enough to make you weap - if you're not reaching for the shotgun already.
