That was our (dad and I)'s destination Monday afternoon. We took a sunset cruise (with dinner). The best thing? The guy who told us random facts about the islands, gossip about people who buy or fail to sell houses (and about this guy who bought an island, made a bridge to the mainland, sold land on the island dirt cheap, made a gate to charge others entrance to the island and asked that his ashes be sprinkled over the gate. Guess what the bitter islanders did? Ran over his ashes with a "Take that, you rascal!"). We then wandered about Kingston, a fort (henry, poss., where I bought a penny whistle I'm learning to play) and Smiths Falls (which has no Falls, but does have a Hershey's Factory, though the tour is disappointing and I never really liked their chocolate) then we went to Ottawa Tuesday night. We ate at a Scottish pub (I had salmon a la "Teel Kettle" and learned that Haggis will really take some guts on my part, should I ever want to try it). Wednesday we wandered about museaums of fotography (small and all focused on one guy*), science (apparently aimed at kiddies and 2/3 of it in construction, ergo free) and dad checked out the civilization one. Then we drove and drove (bought a pie at the big apple) and arrived home.
* Some creepy fotos of young children being all but sexually innocent or a rabbi slitting a cow's throat, as it hangs upside down, with looks terribly like a small machete.
I was greeted by my Firefly collection, which I'm going to start watching tonight.
Refuse to go on any more trips with dad, though, mainly because I've got stuff to do and I don't want to be traveling for a month.
Now have to find cheap tickets to Spain.
(Tired: spent too many hours organizing some of coin collection. Ugh.)
