#205: Take a picture, it lasts longer.
Nicole smiled politely at the woman ahead of her in line as she thumbed through her wedding album repeatedly. The woman fussed that she couldn't find the photo she wanted to have copied and was afraid she'd brought the wrong album. Finally the clerk asked her to step aside so he could help Nicole.
Forty minutes later, including an interruption from the wedding lady when she found her photo, Nicole walked out of the shop with a compact camera possessed of a super fast shutter and a large memory card. With it she could capture just about anything she wanted. She told the clerk it was for nature photography, not that she thought he believed that for a moment. If pressed she was prepared to admit sadly that her boyfriend was cheating on her and she wanted proof.
She didn't wait for him outside One Police Plaza. Instead she found a place just past his subway stop and set up there. A new wig, a new outfit and her camera all served to disguise her. She'd watched him off and on for years. It was about time she had something concrete to show for it at the end of the day.
