I don't actually play at C&C but I'm friends with Spinel so I was derping around on the HMD and saw you and how you wanted activity suggestions. It would have been super awkward if I'd posted to the game meme, so hi?

This is... actually about Ladd instead of Bender but since you don't have a post for Ladd I thought I should drop it here. I'm kind of looking to drop in nodandblush or a blonde bombshell once school ends for me so I've been stalking the cast.

Anyway your version of Ladd is p. rad so maybe here's a couple suggestions on how to get him more active? He seems in canon to think that errbodycurr about what he has to say (he doesn't have it quite so bad as Graham, but fucker loves the sound of his own voice), so maybe get him talking about something that's getting him wound up and look for responses and go from there. Not everything has to involve him beating hell out of people: yeah his mood goes from zero to murderous really fast, but he's not always in a killing mood, and he seems actually rather cunning to me, what with how he plotted to get into Alcatraz in the books, and his reaction to finding out he was going there in the OVA episodes. He had a plan in mind.

And if you're gonna have a lot of fighting, which, yeah, you are, it's Ladd Russo. maybe elide over the more explicit fighting bits? I know from experience it's a pain in the ass to write out every punch, so you could try concentrating more on headspace and dialogue. That's what I've found works best, and with Ladd there's so much associated with fighting it might be doable?

That is actually a pretty fair point to make. I guess when I was canon reviewing for him, I sort of... Skipped the OVA episodes because I was being lazy and they barely have any Ladd in them. Plus, I should get round to reading the rest of the novels which I will do when I'm not busy!

Thanks for this anyway, it was actually quite helpful! And I do hope you app in Lua, since Ladd misses her so baw.

yeah I stopped my canon review for Lua at 12 but the couple bits of Ladd there are in 14-16 tell you a lot, since the flashback with Graham shows how he "gets CR" and the later stuff shows you what he's like when not in control of a situation. For the books, unless you can read Japanese there are literally two scenes with him available - "Men in White" on Baka-Tsuki and the Alice in Jails preview on Anonspore's blog. If you haven't read the second, it's really awesome and shows him being a sneaky bastard.

and I have missed playing Lua c: She was a fabulous trainwreck at Bete Noire and I was sad to have to drop. We'd have to make sure we were on the same page, but I'm definitely going to keep waifu on the list.
