I wish I had something interesting to write. Blah. I need to start writing papers for both of my history classes. I think this is the main reason I didn't pick history as a major. I really dislike writing papers. Although, I think I write pretty good papers once I finally get around to it. I just have a really difficult time starting. Nevertheless, I have been much better fighting my procrastination this summer. In fact, once I finish my paper for my women's history class, I'll be done with the course since everything was available from the start and I've completed all the quizzes. I still need to take the final exam at this point. But, I think I'll take it either tomorrow or Thursday depending on how my paper is going.
I'm really enjoying the new Crowded House cd. Kylie's new cd was okay. Nothing great. Robyn's new cd is pretty good though. I'm still not a fan of the Scissor Sisters. Their new cd doesn't do anything for me. So, that's my music review of recent cd's.
I've been watching a lot of old movies lately. My favorite was the 1935 version of "Show Boat". I'll never understand the appeal of blackface though. People in the past were weird.
I haven't really suffered through any movies I haven't liked. The only criticism I can make is that I don't understand how Ruby Keeler became a big star. Okay, I do understand how she got her break because she was married to the biggest star of the day (Al Jolson). But, she couldn't act. I don't see what her appeal was to audiences of the time. Nevertheless, the movie I saw her in was "42nd Street", which was quite enjoyable, if you fast forward through songs you don't like.
I spent most of the day playing the latest chapter in the "Sam and Max" series from Tell Tale Games. It was a lot of fun. Nevertheless, it reminded me that I probably won't be able to play FFXIV and succeed with school. Even now, I'm only doing well in school because I have no social life. I don't even log on to Facebook much and never chat with anyone and spend probably ten hours a day learning because my old brain just can't retain facts without tons of repitition.
