Fuckpiss nugget.

I was just excused from jury duty for reasons relayed in my last entry.

The judge wanted to make certain that everybody could stay awake during the proceedings, since there is no transcription available to the jurors.

I had to raise my hand and explain my situation and was excused.

I've wanted to be on a jury my whole life, and now I ( Read more... )

The American judicial system may not love you, Ben, but I still do.

You can discuss my crimes with 11 other people and deem me guilty/not guilty any time you like.

Guilty.

And I'm sorry, Mr. Stone. I know how much you wanted this. :(

I deem you not guilty.

Because you've been so nice to me.

That's reason enough, right?

Wow. I am really sorry to hear that.

I've only been called once, but I no longer lived in the city, so I couldn't do it.

Dreaming of being on jury duty is a strange one. Many consider it to be a nuisance.

You'll be called again, most definitely. Maybe then you'll have your sleep issues straightened out.

You're not alone; I want to be on a jury, too!

I've only been called once, and it was for the Larimer County (Colorado) GRAND JURY! (How great would that have been?!) Unfortunately, they were satisfied that the first 12-15 people they called weren't total psychos (or narcoleptics :), so I wasn't chosen. Watching the selection process was a pretty fun way to get out of work, nonetheless!

Ditto!

I was called last month for Adams county, Colorado. I was so excited when I found out the night before that I actually had to go in. I have received notice about 5-6 times and never had to go in. I spent the better part of the morning learning about how cool and responsible I was being for showing up (thanks for the nice video Ed Sardella!) and then I got to sit in the courtroom for jury selecton. I was ONE SEAT away from being on the jury. Gosh darn it! I really wanted to know more about the little old Spanish-speaking lady on trial for assault, you know?

However, in retrospect, since I was falling asleep throughout this whole process and trying very hard to stay awake, it was probably for the best. I am not a morning person at all. Sorry your (official and medical) sleep issues prevented you from doing it too benchilada.
