She was once one of nine, now we say our goodbyes
Science ruins our faith with its casual lies
And she's only revealed when space wants you to see
She hides like a child, but she's always a planet to me
She lives next to Neptune, and hides from our view,
She can tell them the answers, they'll never be true
And she'll give up her name for a dog at Disney
Now she's riddled with grief, but she's always a planet to me
Ohhh... she is never alone
She's orbited by Nix, by Hydra and Charon
Ohhh... and her orbit goes out
And her orbit goes in, but her atmosphere's gone
And she'll laugh on the outside at the IAU finding
Then she'll cry on the inside for their words are all binding
But she'll always be spinning and always be free,
Blame it all on Hubble, 'cause she's always a planet to me
She was only discovered in nineteen thirty
And NASA ignored her with Voyager 2
Though she's just been demoted, she's not space debris
And the scientists want us to bid her adieu
But she's always a planet to me
i miss her already,
space,
planets,
scientists lie,
