it's so true. my desk is ALWAYS disorganized, but when I used to go home to Minnesota for the summer, I would go absolutely batshit if I noticed the DVDs were no longer in my meticulous alphabetical organization. my mom and sister would chuckle as I plopped my ass on the floor and spread all the DVDs out in a fan in front of me, putting them back the way they were supposed to be.
i just never got why they wouldn't keep it that way. it's not like it's hard.
And it's so impossible to explain that to people in any way that they'll understand. Popular culture has molded such solid concepts of what OCD, Tourette's, et cetera, are that people refuse to change their minds about them, even when confronted with the facts of an actual human being with those disorders.
Unrelated, I really appreciate your input and hope you'll stick around for more. What brought you here, out of curiosity?
Sometimes I think one of my relatives is in the autistic spectrum, but that's kind of a weird topic to bring up.
As for my Tourette's/OCD, I bring them up early in any situation where they're going to be seen. I figure I might as well get it out early, which also helps some people understand it, as they've never really encountered it before.
nice! maybe one day whilst he is sleeping, i will snap some pics of sean's bag o' doom. oy.
of course, that would require *touching* his bag of doom, and the prospect alone makes me shudder. i mean, the bag isn't a problem, but judging by what i pull out of his pockets before doing the laundry, i don't want to touch what's in his bag. eeeeeew.
I'm glad you're enjoying my LJ. Feel free to hang around.
...
Now you've got me thinking I should unload my current Bag of Doom tonight and take pictures. I mean, I *do* have to travel for the holidays, so paring it down would be nice.
Yeah, I did. I guess I could have mentioned that instead of just knocking down your door. ;) Might be a good idea to make room for holiday goodies in that bag of yours.
I try... it was my first thought though. I had a "Trenchcoat of Holding" before Silent Bob did. I loved that fucking coat, after modifications, it had 6 pockets and a secret compartment. If I had a purse, I'd have serious back issues for sure... ;)
