How conscious is the triple-ness now? I mean, if this makes any sense, is there any level of unconscious three-ing? What about when you do things like when you did my wedding ceremony? Does the trippling not move into the verbal? Do you have to type things 3 times also, then delete them?

I have 3 rats, 2 cats and 1 husband. I fit!

I can understand you're number thing to a point. While it is not a foundation of my actions, over the years "3" has come to mean a lot to me. I mean, I was born on the 12th, and 12 is my favorite number. If I had to chose a number for something it was always 12... but if someone wanted 1-10, I was screwed. So then 6 became acceptable, since it is half of twelve. As I got used to the "6" idea, slowly it evolved into "3" as half of 6 and "24" as double 12. From there, multiples of 3 became ok, as it all really revolved around twelve. Yes.

As I became more interested in religion, magic and numberology, I saw the power that 3 really possesses. Trinities and triumverants and everything. 3 is a brilliant, energetic number (for numerologic meaning, go here, here and here). My love of threes even bled into the wedding, as there are celtic triskelions all over our rings (alas, there are only 10 on mine). And I DID get married in the 12th month, on the 18th... all divisible by three!

I do, as evidenced above, always have a compulsion to link info into posts and replies, as a kind of means to back up what I'm saying or explain something further... o_O I also still have an issue with walking on cracks, breaks or borders on the ground. It's not nearly as strong as when I was young, but I still get a little weird about it.

This makes me think of a prior conversation about how words sound, liking them or not... sounds engendering emotions. Like how I am about curse words. So does hearing "three" feel good to you?

*nods* You are right. This isn't a competition. This is more like an identification and realization.

Three is a powerful number, but I wonder if ben's OCD could just have easily been linked to, say, fours or fives.

Relief comes in threes.

Random chance, perhaps...

My Tourette's and OCD rarely surface whilst acting, or writing, or doing something that's patently me. It seems to be a common thing, as I've read about NBA stars and surgeons with TS and OCD, all of whom say it goes away when they do what they do.

That having been said, I find that my subconcious is often doing things in threes, which Sara will, on occasion, gleefully point out to me.

I don't know why it's three...it just is.

That makes sense... you role-play like you were born to do it. You're a born communicator! Cool. I didn't know that about people with TS.

So there is a slight level of instinct behind it.

Thank you. :D
