Crazy...
Well, last week was pretty crazy. I started out by moving into the new house on Sunday, which is really nice... the previous owners did leave a broken basketball hoop (a large, free-standing one) in the yard and a working refrigerator on the sidewalk, and didn't do a perfect job cleaning the place out, but Airel and I are both happy with the place. It's even beginning to feel like we actually live there!
Then, on Thursday, a tree fell on my car. I was going to post about it sooner, but I had a little trouble getting the images posted. As it is, they're really big (around 2 megs apiece), so consider yourself warned:

That's why I'm providing links, btw, rather than hiding behind a cut. I'm driving a rental (a Mazda 6 that gets nowhere near the gas mileage it ought to, given that it's a 4-cylinder), and the landlord at work has offered to pay for the rental and the deductible on my insurance, so things aren't too bad... well, except that the damage is quoted at $7700, which is perilously close to the value of the car. I'm not quite sure what will happen if it is totaled, but the landlord has expressed an interest in making things right, so we'll see.
Anyway, on Friday, I got an offer on the condo! Yes, for over 2 months nothing, and then less than a week after moving out, an offer that was so good, I accepted it outright! So, you know, a few ups, a few downs... the locks have all been changed, DSL installation isn't going smoothly because Verizon didn't do the testing on Monday the 3rd, and on Monday the 10th, didn't do enough testing, so the line still isn't working. I'm told that they'll have resolved the issue by Monday. I hate Mondays. But not as much as I hate Verizon.

But all in all, life is good.
