So... Isaac gave me a Yanni video and Richard Simmons's "Sweatin' to the Oldies 3" both on VHS as early birthday presents... that's pretty awesome. I like original gifts.
Also Soto and Apy came over today and we recorded some really bad stuff involving each of us playing an instrument we were not accustomed to playing. Dan played bass, Brendan did guitar/turntables later on since he decided he didn't like guitar, and I drummed sorta by playing a metal chair and a Snapple bottle with 1 1/2 drumsticks. It was dreadful yet fun. I really ought to get to work on "Why Do People Hate Techno" some more soon.
Oh so then I went with Isaac to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What a GREAT MOVIE. I was surprised to see David Cross in it, I mean he was barely in it really but he had a couple funny lines and it was good to see him in something that wasn't Scary Movie 2. Mark Ruffalo's character was pretty great, but he reminded me so much of John Flansburgh. Oh my god. He had the glasses, he had the hair (sorta), I mean... freaky. Elijah Wood's character was like... evil yet harmless. Meh.
Um. It was hard to follow at first but I don't understand how Dan's dad said he "didn't really get it." Kate Winslet was actually really good in it which surprised me... her character reminded me a lot of Christina actually, she had like the exact same orange hoodie and keeps dyeing her hair throughout the movie and such and I guess her personality reminded me a bit of Christina. Just an observation. I don't want to give away the plot or anything because I think that would just ruin the movie. But see it, Charlie Kaufman & Michael Gondry did a great job on this film. And Beck sings on the soundtrack. So great.
