NOCTURNAL MUCUS ENVELOPE'S FIRST PUBLIC SHOW EVER
WAS AWESOME
PEOPLE LIKED IT
A BUNCH OF OUR FRIENDS CAME
WE GOT ASKED TO DO "THE MAN WHO LED THE WAY" AGAIN AS THE ENCORE
WE STAYED AND SAW SOME REALLY AWESOME BANDS PLAY INCLUDING "RETARDED AS FUCK," FEATURING *THURSTON FUCKING MOORE*'S NEPHEW - I LET HIM USE MY KEYBOARD ADAPTER PLUG - THEY DID "NOISE," AS MARK SAID. IT WAS AWESOME. SOTO'S MOM HAD AN INDESCRIBABLE LOOK ON HER FACE.
OK all capitals is starting to wear me out.
But YES we sold two CDs and almost a third and there were some really awesome other "projects" there that the Dans and I really liked including Mark's own act he sang blues and rocked so great. And this dude JD Hill played and Soto kept talking about how he looked just like the cooking specialist dude from Queer Eye, which he did - but the point is he was really great and we bought his CD and he actually said he wanted to do a show with us sometime WHOA! Only he asked if he could open for *us*, which was sort of confusing... we're really not great enough to close anything
Setlist:
Cottage Cheese Deluxe Mystery
One Step Closer
Cape Fear
I Like Rice
Hello Skinny
The Man Who Led the Way
Jellyfish Heaven
Who's Got the Crack?
Where Is My Mind?
I think we disappointed them by finishing with a serious song. It was still great. WHOA. And Mark really liked us and said "come back anytime you want" and stuff - he's the guy who got us set to play and stuff, and gave us a whole half hour to play and even put up a poster on the window saying "Nocturnal Mucas Envelope" - I guess he was thinking of George Lucas or something and just replaced the L with an M or something. Anyhoo. I really hope we do this again next weekend. And that Mercedes gets to come. And that Marty and Brendan play with us. Though I doubt there's really room for 5 whole people on that tiny stage. Holy moly. What a great place. And I saw the dude with the K pin and I was like "K Records!" and he gave me a thumbs up. And that's about it. And I got an apple turnover, it was great. I really love The Dans. I just felt so much chemistry tonight. And we all had a really good time. That's what it's all about. And we met some really incredible people. Sigh. Why must school exist.
