Mission of Burma. In concert. So much to tell. Do I have time? I'll tell about some now and add more later, I guess. It actually worked out! I mean actually getting to the show & seeing it and all. Gah there were too many fucking indie kids there... you know the ones I'm talking about, the ones who just stand there the whole time, not even moving to the music or anything. I think that the was the only downer about the show. But I guess those people are to be expected. The band that opened, the Rogers Sisters... they weren't bad, I kinda liked 'em actually, I was getting into the groove... they had that NYC dance-art-punk sorta sound to them, I guess a bit Rapture, maybe Yeah Yeah Yeahs-ish, Brendan kept insisting they were just like the B-52s but I think that's just cuz the lead singer was a dude and the other two members were female. And they were punk-y. Bleh. Oh yeah! And we bought t-shirts... they're excellent. Mine's black and in red it's got "Mission of Burma" and above that it's got these different hands and in order it's got the "rock-on"-cuckold-devil-horns thing, then the "power to the people" type upright fist thing, then the peace sign and then the middle finger. So great. Augh I don't have time to say all this crap... well Kyle lost her MOB shirt a few minutes after she bought it and we looked for that a bit, I think she left it on the floor where we were sitting when we got up to move closer to the stage for the beginning of the show. The dudes in Mission of Burma looked SO OLD. But they had all the energy as if it were them just like 20 years ago. Insane. They opened up with a Pink Floyd cover... what the fuck is wrong with me, I don't even know the name of it, it was on Piper at the Gates of Llllawn but anyhoo. It was awesome. Roger Miller rocking the headset thing that I guess protects him from loud noises that could affect his tinnitus. He's an amazing guitarist. He had some mad crazy solos there. And Peter Prescott the drummer sitting behind that piece of glass or whatever it was, I don't know why that was there blehaporepgojarepgnarpgn and Clint Conley on bass, totally looking the oldest of all of them but doing a great job on singing the legendary "Academy Fight Song" and his other songs and playing rhythm guitar on the one softer song they had. They were so friggin loud. Jeezus. JEEZUS. I thought I was gonna die. That great. Alright. Next time I will tell more and discuss the run-in with the police.
