10. Spring.
“Spring sucks” Clyde casually announced one morning, sat in Luke's bedroom. Luke didn't react at first, instead defeating the last few enemies on the level of the game he was playing, and then putting it aside. He crossed his legs and sat with his back against the headboard. Clyde took this as a sign he should continue on his rant about how spring sucked. “See, it's not really as warm as summer, but there's no snow like winter. And there's always a load of … well, insects and spiders and bee's that appear from nowhere.”
Luke frowned, but nodded, as if he agreed. “Okay... so what season do you like?” He asked.
Clyde thought for a moment. “Definitely … Summer I think.” Clyde said smiling at some memory that the Luke couldn't know, without asking. But Clyde didn't seem to like being interrupted by people in mid-thought, so he left Clyde to his thoughts. Finally Clyde stopped to explain exactly why summer. “Have you ever had that Summer, where you spend every day with your friends? And everyone wearing pretty much nothing, and you can just sit and watch people whilst eating ice cream, and you somehow manage to enjoy even the rainiest, wettest days.”
Luke grinned widely. He couldn't wait till Summer then, now that he knew what Clyde liked about Summer, he could play into the little fantasy that Clyde had.
