December Firsts

Hello, and welcome to a December post. December marks several firsts which shall be indicated with bold type face. On December 4th, I turned 24 (for the first time). The morning started off rather roughly. My mother gave me a gift which was so far from being anything I'd enjoy that it upset me. It was hard being grateful for "the thought that counts" when I felt insulted by the gift itself, the way in which it was presented, and the feeling that my mother thought that it would be a good idea to buy me two sessions with a fitness trainer!  If all she got me was some crappy army & navy socks in ugly colours (which WAS in fact the other thing she gave me) then I'd pretend to be grateful, and thank her for some much needed socks, but I was actually upset by the gift and I was doing what I could to be honest and reasonable.  When I came home from work that day she had bought me a Leatherman, which was on my wish list, and is my first actual leatherman.

Let me tell you, Leatherman tools are awesome. They come in very handy. The first day with it I used it to carve a chicken, open boxes, and fix a poorly welded bedframe.

On Dec 5th I wrapped up the 4th TV Movie with Insight. "Judicial Indiscretion," was probably the best of the four I've worked on. I saw most of the first one I worked on today, and it was really shitty.  The second movie I worked on, "All She Wants for Christmas" airs on the women's network on the 18th. It should be kind of cute and kind of funny.

Haley's moved into her first apartment and is still getting settled in. I'm really enjoying helping her out with putting together furniture, and any excuse to use my new 18v Cordless Tool Set which I stood in line to get a deal on. It's really nice for us to have a place to be alone together.

I'm generally pretty happy in life. My mother is my only real source of stress until I take on another film in Jan. I guess Christmas could be stressful too, but only he crowded malls and parking lots. I've got a few new material items to make me happy (Leatherman, waterproof/breathable gloves, 1000w power inverter, thermal socks, moleskine storyboard notebook, Jack Skellington floor mats and an electronic label maker) thanks to my birthday and a bit of disposable income from working.

I really need to post some photos soon. As they say they're worth 1000 words.
