Hi! I'm Cybèle, 32, Belgian. I don't know anyone here so it's nice to see an introduction post that I can reply to. ^^
I don't remember exactly when my sister and I saw that Prince Caspian trailer but I do remember we agreed that "Oh, il est beau, le prince !" (I suppose the French words are simple enough to be understood without translation). And then we kept smiling when we saw the posters. We hadn't seen the first Narnia movie but we bought the DVD so we could watch it before going to see the new one, just for Ben (although I must confess that I had found William Moseley very cute while watching the first movie, so in my case it wasn't "just for Ben" anymore). Now... Well, we went to see Easy Virtue in theater even though we had the DVD (ordered on Amazon UK) already, and now we're considering going to see Dorian Gray in London to avoid waiting for the DVD (that will probably be released in UK before the movie arrives in theater here, again). I think it's enough to make clear it's not just "le prince" that we love...although we

We're not sure either we'll have enough money. The Eurostar train is not too expensive but hotels are and we never went to London before so it would be a pity to stay for only one day, spent in the theater. Also, our understanding of spoken English is not very good. It's not a problem when we watch DVDs ordered from UK because they usually have subtitles for deaf people (written English is way easier to understand!) but in theater... Would it be enough to know the book? They don't seem to have followed it very closely.
I must admit I haven't read the book so far *blush*, but in any case it's an advantage to know the book, because when you read the book you know the essential plot of the story and that makes it much more easier to understand the film. I don't know how much they changed for the film, the only thing I know is that Lord Wotton doesn't have a daughter in the book but in the film (played by Rebecca Hall).
I had already read the book a few years ago and I read it again when I heard Ben was going to play Dorian, but it might be useful to read it another time before I see the movie (plus, I have it in English, now).
Yes, they added that daughter of Henry Wotton, but only by watching the trailer I can tell it's not the only thing. Which I expected, anyway, because they were bound to show the things that are only suggested in the book. It'll make quite a lot of scenes of which I won't know the dialogue in advance.
Thanks for the link. 62£ are still much more than the price of a room for two in the cheap hotels that can be found in France but I suppose we can't find better there. (A dormitory is out of the question for us. We're very asocial, so sharing a room with unknown people would be a nightmare.) We'll see.
