FST drabble. Yes, you read that correctly.
So, that Bevin soundtrack posted up by the lovely ladynyoko got me all fired up, and now I want to make drabbles out of every single song on it. Trust me, seeing that Bevin picture ON MY IPOD while "Here in Your Arms" was playing was an extra incentive to write them. The thing is, they're a bit longer than my usual drabbles, so I'll have to post them up one or two at a time, to avoid having you get a headache while trying to read 13 extra-long drabbles all at once. ^^ The first one I have for you is "Here in Your Arms".
I reccomend listening to the song as you read. It sure does give you the warm-fuzzies.
Here in Your Arms
Ben rolled down the passenger side window and leaned back, sighing as the cool air rushed over his face. He shifted his legs a little so that they weren’t rubbing against each other and wiped some sweat from his forehead.
All very pointed motions; and Kevin spared a short glance at the younger boy and smirked. “Almost there, Benjy. Be a little patient.”
“We’ve been driving for an hour,” Ben groaned. Patience was not his strong suit.
Kevin chuckled. “Correction: I’ve been driving for an hour.”
“And you’re taking me…?”
“To a place where we can have some much-needed alone time. I know how you get when Gwen’s breathin’ down my neck.”
Ben rolled his eyes, annoyed that his boyfriend could see through him so easily. But the consideration was very endearing, if a little indulgent. And anyway, he was happy to have some alone time with Kevin.
Not that he’d admit that, of course.
Another half an hour passed with only the sound of the rushing wind to break the sleepy silence, and then they were pulling up to what Ben noticed was an old campground, newly set up with a tent and a fire pit, with a cluster of trees serving as a backdrop. Kevin parked just in front of it, and sat back just for a moment to take in Ben’s reaction.
His eyes were gleaming with interest. “We’re camping?”
“Yup,” Kevin replied, grinning. “Just you and me, under the stars. What d’you think?”
Ben smiled. “I think you’re a sap,” he chuckled, getting out of the car. Kevin laughed out loud as he followed.
A few minutes later, Kevin had a fire going and both he and Ben were wrapped up snugly in their sleeping bag (of course Kevin had only brought one). There was a cooler inside the tent filled with drinks and things they could cook later on, but right now, Ben’s only interest was sitting here with Kevin. It was so rare that they got to be together like this that he wanted to savor it.
Kevin wrapped his arms around Ben, tilting his head to brush his lips over the other’s. Blushing, Ben responded with a shy kiss to Kevin’s cheek.
“Hey, you were right. I really needed this. Thanks.”
“No need to thank me. I’ve been waiting for a chance to bring you out here.” Kevin hummed delightedly as Ben nuzzled his neck, placing soft kisses to his skin. “Ahh, damn, you’re givin’ me the chills. You do know there’s no one around to stop me if I try to rape you, right?”
Ben smirked. “Rape away.”
Kevin tightened his grip around Ben’s waist, pulling the younger boy flush against his chest. “Stop it. You’re ruining this nice, cheesy romantic moment.”
Ben laughed. “Sorry. I’ll be good.” He wrapped his arms around Kevin’s neck. He felt like he could just fall asleep right there, held so gently in Kevin’s arms. He loved this. He loved Kevin.
He had just begun to drift away when he heard Kevin ask him softly, “You wanna sleep in the tent?”
Ben shook his head. “No. Here’s fine right now.”
He felt Kevin’s warm, calloused fingers run through his hair. “I’ll carry you in there in a little while, then, okay?”
Ben nodded. “Okay.”
Kevin curled the sleeping bag more snugly around them, keeping Ben warm.
This was all he wanted. There was nowhere else he’d rather be than right here.
‘I wish we could just stay here forever…’
Of course he knew that was impossible.
But a few hours of complete, perfect bliss, here in Kevin’s arms, would be just fine.
