{So as much as I love the idea of Ben becoming an ass...I mean arrogant brat because he and Kevin broke up, I decided to put my own spin on the reasons behind this. I originally choose this FST(I still don't have any idea what that means) because I Want You Bad was the only song on the list I knew, however, all of the songs work quite well. If it gets confusing, it's probably because I was confused when I wrote it. And of course, the only way I could figure out to get all of the songs into one story was to have the darling boys get stuck in a box. An anodite induced box, because even if I hate them with the boys, I do love the girls.}
{Oh, and I haven't seen the first two episodes yet, so this is pre-Alien Force mutie-Kevin.}
"Albedo was pretty hot." Kevin says absent-mindedly.
"Who was that again?" Julie asks over speaker phone.
"Benji's evil twin. He had a red jacket, red eyes, white hair, and he probably would've looked really hot in short shorts." Kevin looked off, thinking about Albedo, but looking at a pink wall.
Ben just ignored both of them. "The box she made is still up, Julie."
"I know, I can see it from the living room. She still hasn't woken up." Julie sounded a little annoyed. A passed out Gwen wasn't too difficult to deal with, but a Ben and Kevin stuck in an energy box was.
"Well my cell phone battery is all most dead, so we can't keep at this much longer."
"You know you wouldn't look that bad in short shorts either Benji."
"And Kevin may be starting to get delusional..." Ben said backing slightly away from the older boy. Not that it was easy. Gwen had wanted to practice lifting things, more specifically people, with her powers. When it proved to be too much work, Gwen passed out, and Ben and Kevin were left trapped in a box.
"Well how about I just call you if anything super important happens? And you call me if Kevin tries to attack you or something."
"Okay." Ben stopped the call.
"Why does she think I would attack you?" Kevin asked sounding a little confused.
"Huhn?" Ben mumbled sounding innocent.
"Why does Julie think I would attack you?"
"I don't know. You are thought of as a bully in most of Bellwood. What did Cash say? After beating you he was the toughest guy?" Ben just cocked his head. "Anyways, do you think you could absorb this? It is energy, but you used to be able to do that when you were younger."
"Yeah," Kevin said sheepishly, "But I've never been good with alien stuff, or anything to do with you Tennison's."
"Um.. excuse me," Ben said sounding annoyed. "I don't think you got turned into a mutant because I trapped you in a box because of my alien heritage."
Kevin glared.
They sat in silence for about five minutes after that.
"Too bad your car isn't here." Ben said finally breaking the silence. When Kevin just raised an eyebrow, Ben elaborated. "You know, so I could play with the lock until you got annoyed."
"I knew you did that just to annoy me." Kevin said with a laugh.
Ben smiled, then the smile turned sad. "You know I didn't really mean to say that Kevin, it's just we've already been in this box for almost five hours together. And it's just-"
"So Ship he's a pretty amazing little um... up-grade huh?" Kevin said trying to change the subject. Ben was thankful for this because he could tell he was probably blushing.
"I know. I mean if you can get past his infatuation with anything technical, and his need to constantly annoy me."
Kevin chuckled. "But you are right about needing my car here. At least then we could have some music."
Ben scoffed. "You have to let me sit shotgun more. I can't listen to any more of Gwen's classical stuff."
"Well you know the back seat is safer. And it has a better set of speakers." Kevin said trying to make up for the fact that he had just admitted he was trying to keep Ben safe.
"And I just love hearing Beethoven blasting from three different areas." Ben said rolling his eyes. "Besides, who knows what goes on in the back seat when I'm not there."
Kevin looked shocked. "What?" he said his voice a tad higher than normal.
"Well everyone talks about it Kevin. Since you two are dating and-"
"Me and Gwen are not dating. I mean we tried that right after the hybrid thing but...it didn't exactly work out."
"Oh." Ben said looking away. "Uh... Sorry?"
"Well we can't all be like you and Julie, Tennison."
"Me and Julie?" Ben said his eyes widening.
"'I'll walk you to school.'" Kevin said mocking Ben.
Ben just stared. "Me and Julie are just friends Kevin. I mean we thought we had crushes on each other, but it didn't exactly work out."
"Hmm..." There was more silence.
"Ben..." Kevin said so quietly that Ben almost didn't hear it.
Ben turned to look at him. "Yeah..."
For a second Kevin looked like he was going to ask something. The moment of pain that flashed across
Kevin's face was gone as quick as it appeared, but Ben still noticed it. Then Kevin hit him in the arm. "Thanks for not killing me when we were kids."
"Umm...Same here?" Ben said a little confused.
Kevin hit him on the arm again.
"What is all this hitting abou-"
"Thanks for trusting me again." Kevin said not looking at Ben.
"You're welcome." Ben said. "I still don't see why you needed to hit me though."
There was more sitting in awkward silence. It gave both boys time to think, which wasn't all that great of an idea for either of them to do. Ben though of Kevin, all they had been through, and his not-so-platonic feeling for the older boy. Kevin thought about his sexual feelings towards Ben, how Ben had trusted him, and in some ways helped save Kevin's life. Kevin's thoughts were more brooding than Ben's and Ben noticed this.
"What's wrong?" Ben said once again breaking the silence.
"Huh?" Kevin said escaping his thoughts.
"You have your I-want-to-hit-something face on." Ben said poking Kevin's cheek.
"I was just thinking about when I was younger." Kevin said staring every where except at Ben.
"Okay..." Ben said trying to meet Kevin's eyes. "But how about next time we get stuck in a pretty pink box for hours upon end our topic isn't 'Kevin Eleven'? Did I mention how you aren't creative at all?"
"Okay, Kirby, it won't be a pity party for little angst-y 11 year old me. The next time can be about how much of a brat you were when you were 10." Kevin said finally looking Ben in the eyes.
"But look at us now." Ben said smiling. "I doubt 11 year old you and 10 year old me ever thought they would be trapped in a box together."
Kevin raised an eyebrow. "We were chained together for awhile. But you're right. If we were five years
younger I'd be beating you to death right now."
Ben snorted. "You mean I would be beating you up."
"No." Kevin said as if he were talking to a child. "Your Omnitrix would've timed out by now."
"Hmm..." Ben pursed his lips, "Maybe... we may have to test this theory."
"Like we did when we first met the second time?"
"Much like then." Ben said smiling. "Just without the DNAliens."
Suddenly the pink color of the box started to change. Ben's phone rang.
"Let me guess," Ben said to Julie, "Gwen woke up?"
"Yeah," Julie sounded amazed. "You can tell from in there?"
"The color is changing." Ben said hoping that would explain it.
"Oh wel-"
Ben didn't know if his phone had cut off or if he just couldn't hear Julie because of the fact that Kevin was kissing him. It was quick because the walls were disappearing, but even when Gwen and Julie became visible, Ben's lips still felt warm. Kevin wasn't looking at him, and he could barely hear what Gwen was saying.
Ben touched his lips. Maybe Kevin like Albedo because he was slightly evil, or maybe because of the coy smirks. And maybe Kevin thought that 10 year old Ben's annoying-ness was cute.
If coy smirks and slight brattish-ness could get Ben more kisses, then he would act like a ten year old again.
{If anyone tries to say that you don't have conversations like this while trapped in a small space, they can go get trapped in the family bathroom at the mall with their ex-boyfriend. It's kind of what gave me inspiration for this.}
