Things and Dishonored and Such

Lately I have not been good about posting or replying or any of the Internet things. XD My PC has been mostly relegated to video games for the last several days and all my writing is being done in notebooks, which has not been great for online hobbies, but has been a lot of fun more generally. I'm working on three stories by hand now, none of which are the ones I should actually be working on, but such is how the Muse works. For those who are curious, these stories are for the Blackwell games, Silent Hill, and Dishonored because the massive amount of gaming I've been doing has also taken over my writing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In terms of my non-gaming interests, I'm hoping to get my next VNC meta out soon-ish. I make no promises for any of my other stories.

Of course, I have continued with Dishonored 2. I keep complaining about little changes in this game and while I stand by those I also want to talk about the fun elements, which is why I'm playing to begin with. For one, the levels are just so great... I'm back in the Dust District and that place has some excellent vibes, not to mention a decent plot about mining and corruption. I think the last time I played I must have solved Jindosh's puzzle and not killed anyone since I was going for low-chaos, but this time around I'm high-chaos all the way, so I have to determine who is dying in this gang war. 8D I find I'm not too keen on helping the Abbey, so the guy with Granny Rags's hand might just win the day.

I'm starting to get used to Emily's powers or, perhaps more accurately, I've gotten really good at using exactly two (unsurprisingly it's just Long Reach and Dark Vision...). When I think about it, I don't think I've ever put most of these powers to work all that much... Basically I treat the game like Thief: Gold except I can traverse great distances easier and see through walls. 8D I mean, I could transform into a shadow creature, a rat, use wind storms, attach people to each other, mesmerize them, but no, I'm out here doing things the hard way. Sometimes I forget to use Dark Vision entirely. Maybe a no powers playthrough isn't as unreasonable as I often think it would be. XD I guess I also used Bend Time a lot as Corvo, so there's a third power. Oh, and Shadow Kill for high-chaos runs, but that's basically just a fancier version of sword combat, which is what I default to in combat. Despite the way I'm making it sound, this playthrough is actually going very smoothly.

And speaking of Thief: Gold I ended up continuing that as well because, really, if you're going to play one you may as well just play the other. XD Also, I never have finished the third game on account of how shocked I was at the graphics change, but I really need to get around to that and finish the trilogy. I need to know the end of Garrett's story...

Lately I've noticed people are writing crossovers between these two games, which I think is a great idea because, well, they're obviously quite similar in certain regards. So far none of the fic I've found has really spoken to me, but the idea is still a good one. I'm not sure Garrett would be all that impressed with Corvo when I think about it. Hmmm... Would probably rob him blind. Now that would be a fun story. :D

Anyway, I'm hoping to get around to replying to comments and posting a story/maybe updating something in the near future.
