This challenge is all about boasting of our achievements. I don't usually do that sort of thing, but there are a couple of fannish accomplishments I'm quite proud of, so here they are! Putting it under a cut for anyone who doesn't want to be inundated with this sort of thing. XD
In 2018, I made a return to writing fanfic and the story that really got me going was
The Descent (Vanitas no Carte fused with the original Diablo). And I still love that story! It was also the speediest I've ever cranked out a longer story (started Oct. 31st and ended Dec. 12). I still intend to tinker with the last two chapters, but I personally feel like it stands on its own really well. It also has a sequel that promises to be a monster in length. This was also the same year I wrote
Dealing with Monsters (also for Vanitas no Carte), which is still my longest oneshot at nearly 20k. Not content to wait for Vanitas's backstory, I created my own. I look forward to it being completely wrong as the series progresses. XD
But a more recent fic I'm proud of is
When We Fall Asleep because that one required a lot of world building in a short time frame. It's also one of my longer oneshots at over 15k. It basically combined all the things I love: ghosts, drama, romance, and strong platonic friendships. Which also featured in The Descent, so there's a theme here.
Outside of fic, I'm proud of keeping up on my meta for Vanitas no Carte. That alone is over 50k, and that's not actually including everything I've written for it.
Now for some things that aren't related to VNC although that is clearly dominating my fannish time. However! I also have gotten pretty far in my write up for
Resident Evil 2 (Leon is finished, still working on Claire) and I completed my write up for the first
Resident Evil as Jill. I've been having fun keeping track of some of my game time this way. (^^)
I'd say those are the main things for now! I set a goal earlier this challenge to continue writing for a lot of my stories, so we'll see what the year brings. :)
