Fandom Snowflake Challenge 2021 #6 - Fanwork Recommendations
I took a look through my recs on AO3 for this one! I've been using that function more lately. Still need to go through and add notes to a lot of my bookmarks, but I'm getting there. Regardless, some stories!
Think I Know Where You Belong (Think I Know It's With Me) by
NoelleAngelFyre (Wally/Shayera; Justice League) - Finding anything about these two on AO3, platonic or otherwise, is just about impossible. ): It's unfortunate because they had such a fun friendship in the show. This story focuses on how that friendship might become a romance and I think that the author did a great job capturing their voices and it was just a great character study. I could definitely see how and why they got together in this fic. (^^)
a day in the life by
taywen (Corvo & The Outsider; Dishonored) - Lots of good bonding in this story and The Outsider is human for a day. It makes me think of those stories where Death joins mortals for a bit to remind themselves of what the living go through. This is more comedic than that kind of story can be, but it's a great look at all the characters. Definitely recommend!
Unfortunate Circumstances by
antikytheras (OC/OC; Dishonored) - This is just an amusing story. :D It's also marked as Corvo/The Outsider, but that's really in the background. No, the focus of this story is two guards that are constantly being knocked out by Corvo together. But through all these knockouts, could something more emerge?! If you also knocked out a lot of guards and stacked them on top of each other, you will appreciate this one. XD
Rite of Exorcism by
partingxshot (Hank & Connor; Detroit: Become Human) - This is an excellent story about what might happen if Connor was to be taken over by Amanda. What would Hank do? Would anyone even believe him? I enjoyed all the directions this one went. For some other DBH recs, take a look at this post I made over here.
In Control by
Mayasynth (Murderbot & Dr. Mensah, Murderbot & ART; Murderbot Diaries) - Goes over Murderbot on some missions as it tries to cope with some feelings. Gets help from two sources with varying degrees of success. I thought the author captured Murderbot's voice really well!
How I Spent My Vacation by
Satchelfoot (Murderbot & ART; Murderbot Diaries) - An alternate look at ART and Murderbot's reunion. Again, their voices are captured really well and the circumstances are fun.
asymptotic by
chinxe (Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji; The Untamed/MDZS) - This was a great look at an alternate take on their romance. Basically, what if Wei Wuxian were already a ghost and Lan Wangji still fell for him? Seems about right. XD Excellent stuff.
I'll leave it there for now. I really should recommend stories and such more often, I'm thinking. It's fun to share the goods. (^^) If you're interested, you can see the absolutely massive amount of recs I did for this challenge last year as well over here, which covers a lot more series.
