Goodbye, Old Friend

Nov 18, 2006 17:01

As many of you already know, yesterday marked the end of the best radio station that Atlanta has ever seen. 96Rock was more than just a radio station. It was the gateway for those of us out in the small towns to escape. I can't believe how upset I am that a radio station has changed its name and format. It just feels to me like I've witnessed a life long friend killed in front of me. I feel like a part of my heart was ripped out in those final seconds of the station. At least they went out by playing the same song that they started with in 1974. I'll probably never again hear Baba O'Riley without thinking about 96Rock.

Don't cry
Don't raise your eye
It's only teenage wasteland

death, 96rock
