So my brother brought home a friend from college over the weekend, and the kid is six foot six and wears shoes that are size sixteen and a half. When I first saw his shoes sitting on the floor I stood there and stared, because they were over twice as long as my feet and very nearly skis. And then there was a horrifying moment where my brother said, "You know what that means, right?" and I went, Oh, God, please don't say what I think you're going to say, but he just said, "He's still growing." And I was like, "Oh, thank God. I mean, uh...wow?" Awkward.

And then the first thing my brother did after dinner was ask me for my SPN DVDs, because apparently Jon's a Buffy fan and my brother wanted to "convert" him. Which cracks me up, because my brother will barely admit to liking the show (he says it's okay, but not great) and yet, since his friend liked it, this makes five people my brother has recruited. The first was me, of course, and then he made his girlfriend marathon season one this summer, and he had two of our cousins watching BDABR when they were here for Christmas. He's totally oblivious to fandom, yet he's a much better fangirl than me.

And speaking of random family commentary on SPN, I was reading Entertainment Weekly's summary thing for spring shows (because despite my not paying for it, the magazine has randomly started showing up at my house) and my mom wandered by. She saw that I was reading the SPN one, and she leaned over and said, "Oh. That's not a very good picture of them." When I gave her the whuh? face, she said, "They don't look very cute there. And they're both really cute." And then of course my brother came over to look and said, "They look fine to me." Ahaha. WTF, family.

And I thought I was writing Wincest for big bang, but this random J2 AU I've had plotted out since...last summer, I think? started ATTACKING me with plot ideas. I've got 10,000 words written, which is awesome, but I don't think I'm anywhere near halfway done. I love how last year I watched signups go by, thinking I could never write something that long, and now I'm worried my fic will turn into a 40,000-word epic I won't finish in time. Ironic.

bigbang, life
