Now that I am officially engaged, I can dig that potential wedding invite list out of the work computer and send it to my mom. I thought I had caught everyone, including G's family- about 150 people in total- and then sent it to my mom to look over before looking at potential venues.
Well she sent it back, and somehow my family and family friend side has jumped to 143 people. I can not believe it! How can we be related or know that many people?
It seems the issue is this: About a year plus ago, my parents moved from NJ to Florida, a few blocks from my grandmother, and within a couple of miles from my entire extended Puerto Rican family. While a year ago, we hadn't seen most of these relatives in a few years, at least- my parents now see them every few days for BBQs, Dinners and such. My grandmother has a large family - six siblings- who all live there, along with all their children. I know there is no way to invite some of my great aunts (because I am personally close to a few) and not the others without causing a huge issue (my grandmother and her sisters are like the head of the mofioso) So I don't see anyway around this. Any ideas? Should I just suck it up, accept we need to invite a large group and hope those I am not closer with choose not to attend, or take the stand and say no?
