I am going to tell you all about the longest and worst 48 hours i've had in a while.
First of all, as many of you know, I caught the stomach flu friday night. From midnight until 2 in the afternoon, I was throwing up. Luckily, I talked the hotel into letting me stay a bit longer. Afterwards, I get a call from my mother to tell me someone stole my credit card info and charged 800 pounds. I dont know how someone in the UK got it...weird. They also charged another 300 euros. So My mom cancelled the card, which cancelled some charges, including my bus ticket to shannon. So I tried to buy another one online. Didnt work. Tried to call in one. They said to come down to the bus station. So I grab my huge ass bags, trying to not throw up, and catch a cab to the city link bus office which i naively think is near the bus station. They tell me the system is down and to buy one on the bus. Which happens to be a long walk away. You know what happens when you are carrying four bags and have the flu? You end up throwing up behind a bu ilding.
I finally get on the bus and make it safetly to the shannon airport, where I steal a luggage cart to bring my luggage across the street to the hotel airport. (dont worry, i returned it when I brought my luggage back to the airport) Of course the hotel had no tv :( and no asprin to try and help break my fever. I took a lot of cold baths. I also made phone calls at 5 am when I woke up delirious.
I headed over to the airport early the next morning and then, after going through security for my 11 flight and not grabbing anything to eat, learn that the plane has been delayed until at least 2. Awesome. We board at 2, I get annoyed with this stupid 12 year old behind me kicking my seat constantly. Then we land in maine for THREE HOURS without being allowed to leave the plane. because apparently there were storms. We finally get on our way to jfk which we circle for another two hours until we can land. Then I get stuck in customs and they have a baggage problem so they just throw a bunch of bags in piles and it takes me an hour to fnd my bags.
The time I was supposed to get home: Airport around 1, my house around 2 (this is pm of course)
Time I actually got home: 1 am
You know whats not fun? 12 hours on a plane with the flu. Although it does lead to your dad's first ever white castle trip
