Mr. b and I have been on a major Babylon 5 kick lately. It started with him buying me season 5 for Christmas. We hadn't watched the season 4 box set yet so decided to start there and then keep going. Oh, wow, awesome! I've wanted to watch Babylon 5 but have heard that the first season is a necessary chore. This will help immensely, and may motivate me to actually start watching. When I'm done with my most recent DS9 re-watch.

I suppose one could start watching at Season Two, and then go back later to watch Season One afterward. To maintain the metaphor: it'd be like going back to read The Silmarillion.

Yeah, I have a friend that was going to try just jumping in at s2. And maybe that's what it takes for some people. I'm certainly not advocating starting with "The Gathering"! HA! But I really think that too much would be missed by skipping "Babylon Squared"; that episode can be like the s2 pilot movie instead. Heh.
