o walmart

Ok, so I worked at Walmart about two years ago. When I left it was on a Thursday, so I missed a couple checks. I was told that they would mail the checks to me, but they never did. I kept forgetting to go and get them, because I had started school and had a lot going on in my personal life at the time. Eventually I must have just completely forgotten about them, because I got two letters in the mail saying that I needed to call their central office to have the checks reissued. So, I'll likely be getting over $500 (maybe close to $1,000, depending upon what time during the pay cycle I quit) in a couple of weeks. Add that to the $250 I'm getting for the work I did after school at Bonny Eagle, and I'm pretty 8-)'d right now.

The best part about this, though, isn't the money. Ok, get this. I call the central office, and they have a number of options for you to pick from, like any place does now. However, the last two options are hilarious. One is, "If you are calling to see who is garnishing your wages for child support press (number)". The last is, "If you are calling for some other child support related reason press (number)". Honestly, do they get THAT many calls concerning child support that they need two of their own departments for it?!

While I'm updating, I might as well fill people in on what's happening in my life. I still haven't found a job. I've started to apply to custodial positions as well, because I think I stand a really good shot at getting one, and it gets me working in a school system. I just hope that they don't see that I graduated with a teaching degree and think I applied to the wrong position or something.

Cris is getting set to move up here, can't wait to see her. It's pretty weird, we talk every day for a number of hours, and talk on the phone every night before we go to bed, yet we never run out of things to say (even if it tends to turn into an argument over who is the cute one). I'm just going to be so much more at ease once she has made it up here, and I can hold her. I know she feels the same way, which is good, even though it may be stressful until we get to that point.

My mom moved up to Auburn as well. I'm still in the old place, though. I'm going to be getting out of here the end of this week, because I'm sick of killing bugs. I think the place is good for her. It's pretty small, but it's a lot like our first house in CT, and the cats seem to really love it a lot. I'm actually going to be making a run up there today, to drop off some more stuff. I still need to clear off a couple of things that I've decided to bring. They are mainly just stuff that I've been using to put my clock on, or to hold drinks when I'm at the computer, so it's not anything I can't do without.

Ah well, I've rambled enough.
