Recently a friend of mine made a post about how things weren't going so well in her mother's wedding. Cris posted offering support and sympathy. However, another person (aka the definition of the term "self-centered") turned it into yet another chance to talk about herself and *her* wedding. What a fucking bitch. I would like nothing better

I think my comment was more sympathy than anything. I was just trying to make light of it by joking about, but I'd also commented on FFS with something more detailed.

I think she holds to the philosophy of, "maybe if I say it enough it will come true!"

I think it was inappropriate, but not anything unexpected. Of course, nobody wants a stressful/drama-filled wedding day. That shouldn't have been the point. I think a better comparison to what Josh wrote would have been:

post: I was shot in the leg, the doctors don't think I'll ever walk again.
reply: I sure hope I don't get shot in the leg.

It's a "well, duh" moment that misses the point entirely.
