*ahem*
Howdy all. It's been a few weeks... guess that means it's time to update the old journal. Mom and I are "looking forward" to the holidays this year, which can only mean one thing... we have family members coming out for a week. I personally plan on being absent as much as humanly possible. Since my sister and I have been having an abundance of snarkiness, I'm not enthralled by spending time with her, mom, and Uncle Buddy. Last time I saw him, it was about five years ago, and he managed to turn me off to the idea of ever going back to church. It's not that I don't have firm beliefs and a testimony, so much as it's I can't stand people who are self-righteous, and he's so incredibly aggravating that way. Meh... I'll put in an appearance, and then Heather and I are taking off and avoiding everyone that annoys us. It'll be cookies, take out, movies, and an army of cats fighting over our laps.
I'm on year two that I didn't decorate a tree at home. I put a little tree up at Doug's, which entertains me (it's fiberoptic - oohhh... sparkly....), but I won't see it again until some time around New Year's. Oh well. I put presents under a tree and tossed wrapping paper around. It worked for me.
My new job is still rocking my world, so to speak. They occassionally do heavy blasting in the quarry nearby, and the whole building shakes. Today was one such day. :) It's kind of like being in an amusement park all day, but with paperwork.
Okay. I have presents to wrap. Tomorrow will hopefully see me finishing my Christmas shopping. I really don't want to be worrying about it on Sunday, or worse, Monday. It'd be nice to be able to actually get some sleep before Christmas. Maybe my shoulder will stop hurting if I rest up a bit. Then again, probably not. There's actually a burning knot under the shoulder blade. Ick.
Right... presents... I'm going.
Merry Christmas! (even if you don't celebrate it, why not be merry, eh?)
