word to your moms... i came to drop bombs
let me start of by saying that yesterday that i posted a blog yesterday and it's not here... i did find it on myspace... strange because i know that i put it on here as well... my apologies...
i'm going to bitch and vent for a moment though I don't actually know who will read this and who even cares but... in january we bid on our vacations... i took off the 7-14 of may and a few other weeks... well my inlaws invited john and i to join them in mexico the 5th-12th of may... here at the post office we do things strange and our bids are monday-monday... so i took my scheduled week and requested the weekend before off as well... back in january... and it was approved for me to be off the 5-13... well then gerald ford passed and we were closed for a day of mourning but i had to work so they owed me 1 eight hour day paid of my choice... so i took the friday before we go which is the 4th... all approved and set... tickets bought, bags packed and all that madness... so today they are making the schedule and they are trying to make me work on saturday the 5th... which isn't an option as we leave at 6am and have to be at the airport by 4 because it is an international flight... i'm not paying to change my ticket and missing a day of vacation because they fucked up... i have the approval and it's written on my paperwork from when i requested it.. so now two regulars have to work their days off... not my problem... i can't help that we are under staffed or that management doesn't pay attention when they approve requests... then i had to hear it because the person who could normally head to maybee to cover can't because she is suspended... again not my problem... my vacation doesn't hinge on others... i not only requested the days but was approved for them as well... jan gave me the guilt of "oh now joan has to work two days off in a row and beth is going to have to work her ns day as well..." well guess what joan had to work one of them and so did beth... i can't help that there isn't enough people to cover the schedule but my vacation will not suffer because of someone elses errors or lack of thought... bottom line it was approved, the trip was booked... i'm going. so the 5th -12th i will be in mexico... the 13th i will recover from the trip and the 14th i will take off to go to court... oh well... if they take issue with it i'ts not my problem... bah.
in other news i have not finished all that has to be done before i leave... i have to get more dog food and stock up on treats for the pups while we are gone... i have to take katie shopping for some groceries for while she is staying here... i have talked to sara and she is going to stop in a few times while i am gone and hang out with the puppies... that takes a lot of stress off of me... i'm nervous of leaving them for a whole week...
my johnny received an update that he is being schedule for an entry of duty with the us border patrol... 30-60 days from now he should get the letter that tells him about his training... he isn't sure that he wants to take it as he is waiting to hear from the chp as well... it might be a while before the chp contacts him as he started this process 6months after the border patrol... this background investigation is just about to begin with the chp... i know he would prefer the chp but it's amazing! i'm so happy and excited that he was approved for hire!
