To All Those Participating in My Folklore Project~

Apr 04, 2007 11:04

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I already have one interview done (thank you Squeak!) and have promised her a drabble. All the rest of you can ask for the something of much the same, unless you have a better idea?

I had to explain what my project was about, so as to conserve time, how's about I explain it here?

Folklore like...encompasses every part of culture. It's the jokes we tell, the quilts that are homemade, the cookies that only your mom can make right, the songs we sing around campfires. Basically, yeah. Everything. I'm mostly focusing on the "culture" of online rping, with an emphasis on the relationships between people who may have never met (or maybe never will in person).

What I'll need from you lovely people is this:

*An email containing a scan/copy/something of the consent form with all of that information. (If you live with me, then you can just do that in person.)

*A paragraph worth of text (or something near that) that I can assemble into a paragraph or so of a bio about each of you.

*Some of your time so I can interview you. Doing it via AIM is likely what I'll do for all of you guys, especially since I can keep the transcript of it and pull from that really easily. If you want me to edit anything out, fix your grammar (incase you have typos and want those fixed?) or make a note about how you really do write properly, etc, etc. just let me know, ne?

Any questions? Just let me know!

~~~ Just in case you're curious...this is what the project fully entails for me.
*All of the above
*Cover
*Cover page
*Table of Contents (with page numbers)
*Essay 5-10 pages (with 5 'research' sources...on what, I don't know.)
*1 page personal biography
*12-15 items (I think I'll pull two items from each interview...I only have six people so far)
*Appendix (consent forms, at least one typed up transcript--from taped interview, other?)
...yeah. This thing keeps getting nastier and nastier. Mostly because I have absolutely no idea what to research.
And remember, others can still volunteer. I'd owe you big time for it!
