16: Recovery of Strength [Action]

[Simon has been training extra hard since he recovered from the wounds he received when he fought Aku. Today, as usual, he can be seen out at the barracks, thrashing a training dummy with his whip. He's really working hard, too. The dummy is starting to fall apart.]

[And Adell comes in for his normal training routine in spite of the rain, like he always does. ...Then he sees Simon pushing himself. He observes for a few moments. He looks really intense about his training. And that's good. Eventually, he'll approach from the side, but keep a fair distance as to not startle him.]

Good to see you back in action, Simon. Everything healed up?

[Simon gives the dummy one more strike, then turns to talk to Adell.]

Hello, Adell. Yes, I'm back to my full strength.

I'm glad to see that. I'm sorry you got so badly hurt during all of that. Guess I didn't do as great a job protecting you two as I would've liked...

There is no need to worry. I've been hurt worse.

Still... Just wish I could've done more to prevent it.

[He shakes his head.] But you're okay now, that's what matters. Aku really had a lot more forms than I expected him to. ...Guess he can turn into whatever he wants.

Indeed. You were impressive, yourself. There are very few beings in my world with so much power.

Thanks, Simon. I'm still trying to get stronger. ...Don't know if I'll ever manage to actually damage Aku on my own. But if I can't, it'll let me get in his face better.

Should I ask what sort of beings in your world are as strong as I am? ...I really hope they're not your enemies.

Most would be enemies, but some are allies, as well. The Belnades family has strong magic that would compare. And there is Alucard, if he is still alive.
